WHY THE USE OF THE GREEN?
Originally the colour associated with Saint Patricks was blue but Saint Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan irish. This plant is green and became the simbol of the holiday.

SOMETHING ABOUT SAINT PATRICK
Saint Patrick was born in Britain in the fourth century. His father was a deacon and his grandfather was a priest. At the age of sixteen he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and taken captive to Ireland as a slave. God told him in a dream that he can flee from captivity to the coast and then he would board a ship and return to Britain. Upon returning, he joined the church in Auxerrre and studied to be a priest. Then he went to Ireland as a bishop. Finally he died on 17 march 461 after 30 years of evangelism.
